Privacy Policy
How we handle information when you browse, shop, or contact us.
Effective November 1, 2026
Who this policy covers
This policy describes the Knot on Main Street online storefront and its order and support services. It does not replace the separate privacy notices of payment providers or websites you choose to visit through external links.
Information we collect
- Orders and service requests: your name, email, phone number, billing/contact and shipping addresses, purchased items, order totals, delivery details, correspondence, and refund or dispute history.
- Payment records: the payment provider returns transaction references, authorization and payment status, and limited payment identifiers. Full payment card numbers and security codes are entered through the payment provider’s hosted or tokenized payment interface, not stored in our inventory or order database.
- Site activity: cart contents, reservations, product views, checkout steps, purchase outcomes, browser/device information, timestamps, IP addresses, and diagnostic information. These help operate the store, understand checkout problems, and reduce fraud.
- Feedback: messages, a follow-up email address when requested, a browser identifier, and an associated error reference. Screenshots are optional. If you choose to attach one, it can include information visible on the page; review the page and remove sensitive information first.
Cookies and browser storage
We use a first-party session cookie and browser storage to maintain your cart and reservations and to recognize a browser for support and diagnostics. Our store also records product-view and checkout activity. These features are not third-party advertising cookies. Blocking cookies or clearing storage may empty your cart, interrupt checkout, or change how activity is counted. You can use your browser’s settings to manage this storage. Payment services may use their own cookies and fraud-prevention technology when you open their payment interface.
How information is used and shared
We use information to fulfill and support orders, arrange pickup or shipping, process payments and refunds, send transactional notices, maintain records, investigate errors, protect against fraud, and meet legal obligations. Relevant order information may be available to authorized store staff and the participating dealer when needed to fulfill or resolve your order.
Service providers may process information for these purposes: payment providers such as Authorize.net and the configured merchant processor; shipping carriers; hosting and email providers; Sentry for error reporting and feedback; and Atlassian Jira for support tracking. Diagnostics can include IP addresses and browser identifiers. Feedback and any screenshot you submit may be sent to our support and diagnostic services. Browser session replay is not enabled in this storefront.
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, prevent fraud, or protect rights and safety. If the business changes ownership, relevant records may transfer subject to applicable privacy obligations. We do not sell storefront customer information for money or use it for cross-site targeted advertising. A purchase is not consent to unrelated marketing.
Retention and security
We retain information for the purposes described here, including order service, accounting, taxes, fraud prevention, disputes, and legal requirements. Retention varies by record type and applicable obligations; deleting a browser cookie does not delete an order or support record. Access controls and other safeguards help protect information, but no website or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and requests
Contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to ask about its use. We may verify your identity using information reasonably needed for the request. Depending on your location and applicable law, additional rights may include a copy of your data, portability, objection or restriction, opt-out rights, and an appeal or complaint to a regulator. We will honor applicable rights and explain any lawful reason we cannot fulfill a request, such as retaining transaction records. We do not penalize you for exercising applicable privacy rights. Authorized agents may contact us with proof of authority.
Our services operate in the United States, and service providers may process information in other locations. This general-audience store is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Changes
We will update the date on this page when the policy changes. Material changes will receive additional notice where required. We will not apply materially different uses to previously collected information without any notice or consent required by law.
